LUMBERTON — Lumberton businessman Les Noble is the newest member of the Robeson Community College Board of Trustees.

He was sworn into the role on Monday at the board’s regular meeting. Noble is an appointee by Gov. Roy Cooper and takes the place of Trustee John Armstrong.

“I hope that I can be an asset to the board,” Noble said.

Noble is the owner of Noble Self-Service Storage in Lumberton and he and his wife, Kim, own Riverwood Pre Elementary, located on COMTech in Pembroke. He has served as a past president of the Kiwinis, and served on the Advisory Committee of Select Bank & Trust and the COMTech Business Park Board of Directors. He also served on the North Carolina Battleship Commission, and is a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Lumberton.

Nobles said that he hopes to build on the relationship between Robeson Community College and the COMTech.

“There’s a lot of opportunities for the Public Schools of Robeson County, RCC and the university (The University of North Carolina at Pembroke) at COMTech,” Noble said.
