ROWLAND — A suspect wanted in connection to the shooting death of his children’s mother was taken into custody earlier today during a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Lumberton by Robeson County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators.

Scotti Dewayne Tyler, 38, of Rowland was charged with first degree murder and nine (9) counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. Tyler is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.

The charges are in relation to the death of a Rowland woman.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, at approximately 5:52 a.m., the woman, was found deceased inside of her residence after deputies responded to 150 Levi Rd., Rowland.

Tyler and the woman were recently in a relationship and shared two (2) children.
