LUMBERTON — Two municipal boards and a Public Schools of Robeson County Board of Education committee are scheduled to meet Wednesday and Thursday.

Lumberton City Council will livestream its regular meeting scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday. Members of the public can view the meeting on the City of Lumberton 911 Emergency Services Facebook page.

Agenda items include authorization to retire Lumberton Police Canine Nero because of health conditions and let Nero’s handler, Officer Travis Ransom, buy him for $1, an engineering agreement for the Raw Water Intake Improvement Project, scheduling a public hearing for Project Blue Jay economic incentives, and Rosewood Mobile Home Park Community Development Block Grant Sewer Extension construction contracts.

Public hearings are to be held for an annexation request by B.G. French for property located in the Amberdale Subdivision and for the rezoning of property at 810 Barker Ten Mile Road.

On Thursday, the St. Pauls Board of Commissioners and the PSRC Board of Education’s Policy Committee are scheduled to meet.

St. Pauls commissioners will meet in-person in the Town Hall courtroom, located at 210 W. Blue St. The meeting is to begin at 7 p.m., and people in attendance are asked to follow social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A special meeting of the Board of Education’s Policy Committee has been called for 6 p.m. at the Public Schools of Robeson County District Office, located at 100 Hargrave St. Members of the public may not attend in-person, but can watch the meeting by going online and clicking the https://youtu.be/mHcYr7dy6wg link.

Items on the agenda include policies from the 4,000 SERIES concerning students, apart from student behavior policies. The 4,000 SERIES consists of policies dealing with student rights, behaviors, discipline, school transfers, etc., according to Craig Lowry, PSRC’s Board of Education chairman.
