LUMBERTON — City police are investigating the shooting on Monday night of a 31-year-old man.

Capt. Terry Parker said police were called at 6:12 p.m. to the area of C Avenue and Pate Street and found Clarence Graham, of Spruce Street, had been shot. Officers attempted to speak to Graham, but his injuries prevented him from providing many details, according to Parker.

Graham was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center, where he was treated before being transferred to another hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Officers and investigators secured the scene and interviewed witnesses and neighbors, according to Parker.
